Wilsonart^® HD^® Launches 14 New Mediterranean and South African-Inspired Designs

Wilsonart HD style, function and affordability offers a surprisingly smarter alternative to granite

TEMPLE, Texas (April 24, 2012) – Inspired by the sweeping rugged coast of Santorini, Greece, marbled stone piazzas in Italy and luxurious, sleek slate from the rolling hills of South Africa, Wilsonart’s Design Team introduces 14 new designs in the Wilsonart® HD® collection.  The Wilsonart HD Surfaces are complemented by integrated sinks and new Cascade and Crescent edges, making the collection a one-stop solution for kitchen remodeling.  The Collection’s designs offer the luxurious look and feel of natural stone with the performance, durability and affordability of laminate that today’s modern family desires.  With multiple colors to complement a traditional or contemporary kitchen, the 14 new styles increase HD design options to more than 50 selections, adding high-design to the heart of the home where multiple generations of family and friends gather to eat, work, play and entertain.

“This year is all about creating texture through coordinated looks and lighter tones,” notes Jill Lock, senior product designer for Wilsonart. “We’ve sought designs that coordinate the countertop with the island and selected lighter, more fluid tones with low gloss that give the texture of natural stone.  As consumers combine materials including wood, metal and glass in the kitchen, the new Wilsonart HD designs complement these materials in the evolving kitchen space.” 

Wilsonart has refined its design, printing and optical surface finishes to create the tones, color gradations, fissures and formations that give depth and dimension found in natural stone.   As a result, the HD collection combines more than 50 designs inclusive of three surface textures from gloss to matte (Mirage, Facet and new honed Glaze), with three edge options and eight sink configurations to offer consumers hundreds of coordinated color palettes.
