Durcon® Epoxy Tops - Cleanability

Epoxy provides a complete system of durable, high-performance, heat- and chemical-resistant worksurfaces, sinks, and accessories, which ensure longevity and consistency throughout a laboratory environment.

 Clean & Disinfect

Cleaning refers to the removal of germs, dirt, and impurities from surfaces. It does not kill germs, but by removing them, it lowers their numbers and the risk of spreading infection.

Disinfecting refers to using chemicals, for example, EPA-registered disinfectants, to kill germs on surfaces. This process does not necessarily clean dirty surfaces or remove germs, but by killing germs on a surface after cleaning, it can further lower the risk of spreading infection.

  • Laboratory Grade
Decades of expert engineering and development have led to a product with unmatched resistance to the harsh chemicals, heat, fire, staining, pitting, and marring often experienced at top tier university, pharmaceutical, biology, STEM, and chemistry laboratories around the world. These establishments demand superior performance from their equipment and furniture, and Durcon® Epoxy products deliver.
  • Safe & Clean
Durcon® Epoxy contributes to a safe, clean environment - absolutely required in laboratory spaces- in several ways. Epoxy is NSF/ANSI 51 certified for use in food service areas, adds to indoor air quality with Greenguard Gold certification for low-emission, and contains no asbestos. Epoxy worksurfaces are fire-rated Class A by the ASTM E84 standards test, are non-conductive, and excellent for ease of decontamination for use in radioactive areas.
  • Monolithic & Non-porous
Durcon® Epoxy products are uniform, molded, and monolithic – one solid piece of non-porous material that results in a worksurface with zero absorption and no risk of delamination or swelling, which can trap bacteria and hinder the thorough cleaning required in a lab setting. The smooth, low-glare matte finish of our Epoxy tops also adds to the ease of maintenance and cleanliness.
  • Epoxy DropIn® System Sinks
Durcon® Epoxy DropIn® Sinks are a lab-industry favorite due to their unique installation method that does not require under-mount support, and instead simply drop into place. This seals the worksurface cutout and eliminates any overhang above the sink basin, which can become a collection area for residual chemicals and bacteria.
