What is Aluminum Oxide?
- Aluminum oxide is a hard, colorless, inorganic mineral.
- It is produced from abundant, bauxite ore which is mined from numerous locations around the earth.
- Aluminum oxide is also used to make hip replacements, sandpaper, polishing compounds, some toothpaste, ceramics, filtering and chemical purification materials.
- It is used in Wilsonart® Laminate because it provides additional abrasion and scratch resistance to the melamine resin at the top or decorative surface.
