A Woman With a Vision, a Saw, and Wetwall

Creating a Style Statement Bathroom

When it comes to DIY bathroom remodels, popular influencer and blogger Charlee of Build & Create Home proves you don’t have to be a pro to achieve a professional look. Known for her beginner-friendly woodworking and home renovation projects, Charlee took on her own bathroom remodel and completely transformed the space with Wetwall Waterproof Wall Panels.

Her latest adventure is a project house that she’s renovating to become an Airbnb. The first task was a total revamp of the downstairs bathroom, where she knew the simplicity and style of Tuscany Marble could achieve a fresh, personalized look.

Charlee doesn’t just design for the camera: she designs to express her personal style and curiosity.

“My style lands somewhere between traditional and English Cottage. I love warm tones and colors inspired by nature,” she says. “I’m a maximalist who isn’t afraid of adding quirky or unexpected things into decor just because I like to make people smile.”

To achieve this warm, natural finish, she chose Tuscany Marble for the updated shower. “I loved the creamy tones and knew that would work well with the color palette I’d chosen. I wanted a cozy vibe despite it being a stone-look product. It was the perfect option for me!”

Tuscany Marble is more than a nature-inspired stone. It also follows some of the latest interior design trends. From cozy color palettes to layered maximalism and vintage charm, Charlee’s aesthetic is on the rise. English Cottage-inspired remodels are becoming more popular as DIYers embrace warmth, personality, and character.

Charlee’s eclectic yet sensible design approach reflects a broader shift away from cold minimalism. Whether it’s through curated vintage finds or her signature DIY touches, she loves creating spaces that feel soulful and lived-in

WETWALL SAVES THE DAY

No good DIY story is complete without a few unexpected challenges. And this bathroom project had plenty of those.

“I initially intended to install the Wetwall directly over my old tile. Then I discovered mold and ended up removing everything,” Charlee explains. “Once all the old tile was out, I found extensive termite damage and active termites. This was terrifying!”

And it didn’t stop there. “My septic backed up… the plumbers found old and rotting pipes in the yard that had been completely crushed and were just seeping into my yard. It was just a nightmare!”

But through all the chaos, Charlee felt confident about using Wetwall. She used it in a previous renovation, and knew exactly what she was getting — a reliable, easy-to-cut solution that installs quickly and alleviates the stress of using tile. After all of the challenges, she was excited to work with a product she trusts.

“I had it cut and installed within a few hours. After the chaos of the previous months to get to that point, it was such a relief to have something go smoothly. I could finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.”

Charlee even picked up a clever trick along the way: to keep the side panels in place while the adhesive set, she used a tension shower curtain rod between them. It was a simple solution that might help her nearly 500,000 followers install Wetwall in the future!

NO TILES, MORE SMILES

Choosing Wetwall again was an easy decision. Charlee already knew it would deliver a smooth installation, a beautiful finish, and none of the complications that come with traditional tile. It’s a product that fits seamlessly into her DIY approach.

“Wetwall is such a user-friendly product. Anyone with a few tools and a little DIY know-how can have a completely transformed space in just a few hours,” she says.

From a bathroom disaster to a personal retreat, Charlee’s project shows just how easy it is to use Wetwall in an outdated space. All it took was a vision, a saw, and the modern alternative to tile.
